It's most commonly used in custom designing professional audio systems for large venues like auditoriums, arenas and outdoor stadiums. This proprietary technology allows people to actually hear how the installed system will sound in their facility—before construction ever begins.

Listening to a blueprint

The process starts with our exclusive Modeler® computer design program. Bose engineers enter the building's construction parameters—from room dimensions and seating angles to flooring materials and reflective surfaces. Then the program creates an acoustic model of the space. Think of it as a blueprint for sound.

The second phase uses the Auditioner audio demonstrator playback system. Ten years in development, this advanced technology lets you listen as though you were in the building—from any seat, any section. Even if the building only exists as a blueprint.

Imagine the acoustical challenge of redesigning the sound system in a structure like the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans—over 70,000 seats, 27 stories high, 125 million cubic feet of space.
