On the deck or in the dorm room, at the park or on the beach, it reproduces your favorite tunes with fullness and clarity unusual for a portable system.
A rechargeable lithium-ion battery (included) provides more power and longer playing time than most rechargeable batteries for up to eight hours of listening enjoyment per charge. The battery charges whenever the system is plugged into an electrical outlet with the included power cord.
The rotating dock disappears for storage and protection during transit. And a molded handle makes it easy to carry the lightweight system from place to place.
The SoundDock Portable system was engineered so you can enjoy music from your iPod out loud in more locations, without compromising sound quality. Bose proprietary waveguide speaker technology and powerful neodymium speakers provide efficient, high quality audio from a slim profile.

Can I play music from a digital music player other than an iPod®/iPhone®?
Yes. Although designed for use with an iPod/iPhone, the SoundDock Portable system also has an auxiliary input for connecting other audio devices. You can enjoy the same audio performance from another MP3 player, a portable CD player or music phone.

How long is the battery life?
You can expect eight hours of use per charge on average. Recharge the battery or use an optional spare battery for additional playing time.

Does the SoundDock Portable system run only on battery power?
No. The SoundDock Portable system includes a power cord for plugging into an AC wall outlet in addition to the rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

In addition to controlling the SoundDock system, does the remote also control the iPod?
The custom remote controls the SoundDock Portable system plus basic iPod functions: on/off, pause, volume, track seek/scan and playlist navigation. The SoundDock system's volume also can be controlled by buttons located on the dock on the side of the system.

Does the SoundDock Portable system charge my iPod/iPhone?
Yes. Whether operating on battery power or plugged into a wall outlet, the SoundDock Portable digital music system will charge any compatible iPod/iPhone docked to the system.
