Wave® music system
- Ideal for home or office listening
- CD player, FM/AM tuner, headphone jack, alarm clock
- Convincing sound and impressive lows, especially for its size
- Contemporary design with all controls on convenient remote
The acclaimed Wave® music system still sets the standard for quality audio and ease of use among one-piece, table top radios and bookshelf stereos. Its award-winning design adds a touch of distinction to almost any room. It's no surprise so many people use it as their main home entertainment system for music listening.
Bose® technology at work
Unique Bose innovations account for this compact Wave system's hearty sound. Proprietary waveguide speaker technology combines with other Bose technologies to deliver performance well beyond the speakers' size. Forbes FYI says, "you'll think you're listening to a ... system that costs five times more."
Simplicity by design
The Wave® music system was engineered for easy enjoyment, right out of the box. No setup required: just plug it in and you're ready to go. The FM/AM radio and CD player are built in. There's an auxiliary input for your MP3 or other portable player, and a headphone jack for keeping the music to yourself.
The system's sleek appearance is uninterrupted by buttons, with all controls on a handy, slim remote. The large display panel is brightly lit and easy to read, prominently displaying the artist, title and album names of your MP3 CDs.
Features
Proprietary waveguide speaker technology enables full-bodied sound, especially in lower registers, for more natural-sounding bass and percussion instruments.
Slim infrared remote control lets you conveniently control system functions from just about anywhere in the room.
Slot-loaded CD player easily loads CDs or MP3 CDs. The front-loading design permits more placement options than traditional bookshelf stereos.
Large visual display with adjustable brightness and automatic nighttime dimming enhances viewing of clock radio display. Also indicates audio source and shows track, title and artist on suitably encoded MP3 CDs.
Digital FM/AM tuner with seek function provides easy access to your favorite radio programs with built-in FM/AM antennas. Includes memory settings for six FM and six AM stations.
Automatic ramping for a more pleasant listening experience. Volume starts low and gently increases when the unit is turned on or alarm clock is activated.
Shielded speakers prevent TV and computer picture interference for more placement flexibility.
Headphone jack for private listening.
Auxiliary input jack to enjoy your TV, computer or another audio source through your Wave® system.
Bose® link easily connects your Wave® system to a compatible Lifestyle® system for an expanded home entertainment network.

Overall product ratings
Outstanding device. We cannot believe the sound we get from such a compact device!
The sound on my Wave + CD Changer system is incredible, especially with such a small footprint. It's very attractively designed as well.
However, the system failed to play CDs and had to be shipped back for repair. While Bose repaired it at no cost, it was an inconvenience and a shipping expense.
Moreover, some of the functionality is lost. Even though I purchased the extra remote control to manage both the Wave and the CD changer, it seems silly to me that if I want to listen to, for example, track 9, I have to push the skip button nine times as opposed to simply pushing "9" on a number pad on a remote. Similarly, if I want the system to "Sleep" for 10 minutes, I have to push the Sleep button many times instead of dialing that time in with a forward or back button. If I'm listening to CD1 and want to listen to CD4, I have to push the CD button 3 times instead of being able to push the number 4 on a number pad. My other system, a 10-year old Aiwa, has all of those intelligent functions and I expected the Bose to be at least as, if not more, user-friendly.
While I understand the design constraints against putting buttons on the Wave system, I think a "Stop/Eject" button would not be a bad thing to have on the system itself rather than relegating it to the remote. After all, if you need to eject a CD you are going to be standing next to the system to retrieve it.
The "Wake To" function takes some getting used to, and I'm not sure why there isn't an option to just pick up where you left off on a CD.
I love my Bose system and couldn't ask for anything better! Thank you for making such a wonderful product!
While we love the wave system - sound even overcomes a room with lousy acoustics, radio has excelent reception, the remote controls work even from a distance, and the integrated cd player is smooth and efficient - the cd changer seems like an after thought. It is clunky and loud. After first use we thought it was defective. We also had some programming glitches which tech support was able to fix. If we had to do it over again, we wouldn't buy the changer.
The Bose was a Christmas gift for my husband, who loves to play CDs and is as non-technical as you can get. After I quickly assembled the system for him, I showed him how to use the remote control, and covered all of the basics. He was amazed (as was I) at how simple it was to operate. He loves sitting in his recliner, remote in hand, as he listens to the music of his choice. A gift couldn't get any better. The quality of the sound is amazing, and I couldn't be more pleased with the purchase I made.
