Using your control pod

Applies to:

  • Companion 5 computer speakers

Your Companion 5 control pod puts functionality right at your fingertips. It's also a convenient portal allowing auxiliary audio devices (an iPod® or MP3 player, for instance) to play through your Companion 5 speakers. And it includes a headphone jack for private listening.

Control pod functions:

The black outer ring controls volume for any computer or external audio source playing through your Companion 5 speakers. Rotate it clockwise for more volume, or counterclockwise for less

Touch the top center of the control pod once to mute your system. The LED indicator will glow yellow. Touch it again to unmute. The LED indicator will glow green

The Companion 5 system automatically goes into muted mode (amber indicator) whenever you connect headphones to the control pod

The Companion 5 system goes into energy-saving standby mode (red indicator) when your computer's USB connection and the input signal of an auxiliary audio source are inactive for several minutes

To listen to an external audio device, such as an iPod or MP3 player, plug into the the 1/8" (3.5mm) sound source jack on the control pod
