Hush and Bose joined forces, and worked together on a game-changing product — Bose noise-masking sleepbuds™. Check out the video below for more background on the acquisition of Hush.
There’s a lot that can keep you up at night: snoring, loud neighbors, city noise, and the list goes on. Hush enables you to sleep through all that by combining soothing sounds into earplugs so you’re able to sleep peacefully through the night.
Some of Hush's features include:
With the Hush app, you control which alerts can wake you up. Silence unimportant notifications but still hear alarms or emergency phone calls.
Hush notifies you and only you. That way when your alarm goes off, you don’t wake up anyone else.
Pocket charge case
Hush comes with a compact carrying case, so it’s there with you on the go. The case doubles as a charger, providing 3 full charges without having to plug in.
Fall asleep to white noise, forest sounds, rainfall, and more.
Designed for sleep
With an ultra-thin profile and completely wireless design, Hush is designed from the ground up for all-night comfort. Select your tip of choice, silicone or foam.

What do the blinking lights on the charging case mean?
While the earbuds are in the charging case, the lights glow on and off slowly, to indicate that Hush is charging. When the glowing stops completely, this means Hush is fully charged. This can take up to 6 hours. If you take a fully charged earplug out of the case and plug it back into the case, the corresponding light will glow for a few seconds, then turn off.
When the lights blink rapidly after you insert Hush, that means that the charging case's battery is depleted. When this happens, you need to plug the charging case into a power source with the provided USB cable.
Which devices work with Hush?
iPhone models: iPhone 4s and newer
Android models: Devices running Android 4.3 or higher while enabled with Bluetooth® Low Energy (Bluetooth 4.x)
Can Hush stream music from my smartphone?
Hush is a smart earplug that is designed to protect your sleep throughout the night. In order to get meaningful battery life with the miniature ergonomic form factor, we had to limit what Hush could play. Currently Hush can only play preset soothing sound tracks.
Does Hush provide active noise cancellation?
Hush reduces sound in two ways:
- The sound eliminating foam provides passive noise reduction as a first sound barrier
- The in-ear speaker plays a track to mask any residual sound that the earplugs do not block out
We combined these two time-tested popular approaches to deal with noisy sleep environments. Active noise cancellation is a technology that is not generally effective at cancelling out the sudden sounds that are responsible for disturbing your sleep at night. That is why we did not use active noise cancellation but used the combination of two other effective means of noise isolation.
Which eartips should I use?
Choosing the correct tips for Hush is critical for proper effectiveness and comfort. Hush sits deep in the ear like a normal earplug and should stay flush in your ear to ensure maximum comfort — this is especially important for the side sleeper. You should start with the short small foam tips just to make sure you know how Hush is supposed to sit, then size up for a tighter fit with better noise isolation as you see fit. Be careful to secure the tip all the way onto the stem to ensure it doesn’t come off.
Will I be able to hear fire alarms?
Hush blocks sounds up to ~70 decibels. Fire alarms, smoke alarms, and other emergency alarms are generally programmed to be much louder than 70 decibels.
Can I use Hush while on an airplane?
Hush is a short-range Bluetooth low-energy accessory that functions properly while on aircraft as it’s not dependent on a Wi-Fi/LTE connection. It is permitted for use on aircraft, according to the FAA website.
