The Lifestyle Ultra Speaker is incredibly flexible but works best when it has space around it on a flat, stable, and level surface. It can also be used with the Bose Lifestyle Floor Stand or Bose Lifestyle Wall Bracket.

It is recommended to place the Lifestyle Ultra Speaker at least 2 inches away from a wall or corner to prevent unintended bass frequency buildup. To get the most from your Lifestyle Ultra Speaker, do not place it in or under a shelf/cabinet, as this will prevent the upward-firing speaker from spreading out into the room and significantly impact your speaker’s performance.

When using the Bose Lifestyle Wall Bracket, it is recommended to mount the top of the bracket at or just above ear height of your listening position and angle the speaker into your listening position. The speaker may be mounted higher and angled down; however, it is recommended to leave at least 24 inches between the top of the speaker and the ceiling to maintain the separation of surround and height effects. It is highly recommended to run the CustomTune process to optimize your sound when mounting the Lifestyle Ultra Speakers as part of your home theater setup.

The Lifestyle Ultra Speaker is not rated for outdoor use. 

The primary way to connect to the Lifestyle Ultra Speaker is via Wi-Fi options like Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, or Amazon Alexa (where available). Apple AirPlay and Spotify Connect are available immediately after Wi-Fi setup. To get started with Google Cast, you will need to open the Bose app and turn on Google Cast for each product. To get started with Amazon Alexa, you will need to open the Bose app and enable Amazon Alexa for each product. Bluetooth audio and a 3.5 mm aux input are also available.

The Lifestyle Ultra Speaker supports Amazon Alexa and is ready for Alexa+ in the US. Follow the instructions in the Bose app to enable Amazon Alexa services. Once enabled, you can mute the mic using the speaker’s mic mute button, a red light will stay on. Tap again to unmute the microphone and the light will go off. 

Yes. The Lifestyle Collection products can be grouped as part of a multiroom audio system using Apple AirPlay or Google Cast. To get started with Google Cast, open the Bose app and turn on Google Cast for each product. 

Yes. Two Lifestyle Ultra Speakers can be configured as a stereo pair in the Bose app to create a wide, immersive soundstage. If setting up two new Lifestyle Ultra Speakers as a stereo pair, select the stereo pair option in the app during setup of the first speaker to minimize steps later. 

The Lifestyle Ultra Speaker is not designed to work with your TV by itself but a set of two can be used as surround speakers with a Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar as part of a home theater configuration. It is not recommended to use the Lifestyle Ultra Speaker with a TV using Bluetooth or a 3.5 mm aux line input due to latency/lip sync issues. 

They are only compatible with the Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar. The Lifestyle Ultra Speakers can be configured as surround speakers for the Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar via the Bose app to create a full wrap-around, immersive soundstage. If setting up two new Lifestyle Ultra Speakers as surround speakers at the same time as a Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar, start with the soundbar first or select the Home Theater option in the app during setup to minimize steps later. 

No. The Lifestyle Collection is designed to fit into your life, so you can create your own setup all at once, or piece by piece. You can add a pair of Lifestyle Ultra Speakers to your Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar at any time. 

Yes. You can connect a source device via the 3.5 mm aux input at the rear of the speaker. To switch to the aux source, press and hold the play/pause button. The aux source can also be used with two Lifestyle Ultra Speakers configured in a stereo pair.

For music streaming over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, use your music service provider app to play/pause, skip, and adjust the volume. You can also use the speaker buttons or voice control (if enabled). 

For music via a 3.5 mm aux input, you may need to set the output volume on your source device to prevent your Lifestyle Ultra Speaker from distorting. Play/pause and skip must be done using your source device, but you can use the Bose app, speaker controls, or voice control to adjust the volume of content played over the 3.5 mm aux input. 

The Lifestyle Collection automatically updates when connected to your home network. When an internet connection is available, your Lifestyle Ultra Speaker will download and install the latest software overnight while the product is not in use.

I spend a lot of time watching movies and playing Xbox, and I wanted a more immersive experience that surrounded me with sound. Pros: * Creates a much more immersive environment for movies and gaming. * Compact size makes them easy to integrate into a living room. * Wireless connection reduces clutter and simplifies installation. * Seamless integration with the Bose system. * Environmental and directional effects feel more realistic during gameplay. Cons: * They still require access to power outlets. * Proper placement is important to maximize the surround effect. * Their full potential is realized when used within the Bose ecosystem. Overall: These speakers transformed the experience from simply watching and listening to truly feeling involved in the content. For movies and Xbox gaming especially, they make a significant difference.

The initial wifi configuration was simple, did struggle when changing the speakers to a different network (had to erase from phone and reset speakers).

These things fill the entire room with a deep-warm sound. Everyone I have shown them to are stunned that I am only using these two speakers with no sub. The low end is that deep. LOVE THEM!

As the owner of eleven (11!) other Bose products, I was looking forward to seeing how the Lifestyle Ultra speakers performed and was not disappointed. The setup, creating a stereo pair, was pretty simple, although I wish Bose had alerted me that a “speaker update” would interrupt the process for each device. Once paired, adding Alexa+ also was easy, helped because I already use Alexa for my Bose Portable Home Speaker. The sound was exquisite and easily filled my living room. I was blown away by the stereo separation and how the sound seems everywhere. In the two weeks I have owned the speakers, there have been no issues and regardless of the type of music, the impact was impressive. An added bonus? I attached my beloved Bose Wave Music System IV to the auxiliary port on the speaker and now play my CD collection through them as well. And while the Wave produces legendary sound, the stereo impact of the new speakers revealed some nuances on many of my favorite CDs. Any issues? Well, maybe a question/comment. The up-firing driver is new to me and I noted the Bose app has an “adjustment” for height, but provides no baseline guidance for how to use it. So how do I use that feature?? Is it based on how high your ceiling is? Regardless, what does increasing the number do or decreasing the number? I know I can use trial and error, but some type of description regarding the impact of any adjustment would be helpful, especially for a new feature like this. Bottom line? The Ultra is a great addition to the Bose line that began with my first 301 Speakers in the 70s and I look forward to discovering new sounds for years to come. Well done!!l

Mostly use these with the ultra soundbar as a surround system and for that they are phenomenal. I’ve also started pulling them into duty on the patio as a stand alone and may have found their permanent residence. They look fantastic and with some EQ changes to tame the high end, sound amazing. I had some hiccups activating them up as a standalone after setting up as a surround but Bose support got me going quick.

These speakers round out the sound when used with the soundbar and subwoofer. You can hear every little detail so clearly whether you’re listening to music or watching a movie. It truly is an immersive experience. The speakers match the soundbar so beautifully. They were easy to set up… They feel and look so lux. Best part is you can use these independently for a stereo sound. Definitely want to buy two more to get that multi room sound.

The setup through the Bose app was easily made for it to distinguish between left and right. Our previous Bose soundbar did not have speakers so this was an added feature with the Bose Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar. Similar to our other Bose Lifestyle System we still have a tendency to look behind us when watching certain movies forgetting that there are speakers around us.

I watch a lot of anime, sitcoms, action, and sci-fi content, and I also use the system for gaming. These speakers add a level of immersion that makes a major difference. What stood out to me most was how much extra detail they add to the room. Background sounds, environmental effects, crowd noise, music, and directional effects feel much more natural and convincing. In some of my favorite movies, shows, and games, I noticed sound details I had never heard before. For gaming, the rear speakers make the experience feel more spatial and engaging. For movies and TV, they help pull the sound around you instead of keeping everything locked to the front of the room. It makes the setup feel much closer to a theater experience. The speakers are also nicely designed. They are small enough to place without taking over the room, but they still add a lot to the overall sound. The only issue I had was during setup. Getting the rear speakers connected through the app was not as smooth as I expected at first. There were some connectivity issues during pairing, but the troubleshooting options in the app helped us move forward. Once connected, though, the rear speakers performed extremely well. They are a major part of what makes the full system feel special, and I would not want to use the setup without them.

I recently purchased 2 Lifestyle Ultra speakers and pairing the speakers was very frustrating. They sound great, but it “took a minute” to get them set up and paired. I found it not to be as easy as it is portrayed.

I’ve reset them to "factory settings" twice which has not corrected the issue.

I've owned a variety of Bose speakers and these might be the most room-filling, high quality, at a compact size, I've ever had. We've chosen to primarily use these as surround sound speakers in conjunction with the Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar and Lifestyle Ultra Subwoofer. This is after spending near a decade with the SoundBar 300 surround sound system. The upgrade was immediately noticeable. The room was filled with sound and after testing with video games I've spent hundreds of hours in, I heard sound I didn't know were in there. Movies we've seen a handful of times also sound remarkably different. The upward tweeter and the dedicated CleanBass give these a heft behind us we hadn't felt before. That being said, they are much larger that any surround speakers we've had before which is the only thing knocking these down a star for our setup in particular. These are definitely multi-use, meant to adapt to different use-cases, but they don't blend in and disappear like our old ones did. Pairing them with the Soundbar and Subwoofer was a breeze in the Bose app too. Pinging each one to confirm which was Left and which was Right was also a fun moment which made it immediately clear how strong these speakers are. When AirPlaying music to the whole system, I also appreciated how they just acted as speakers and didn't try to mimic a surround sound situation (which they do if you're playing music directly from your TV setup for example). Overall, incredibly happy with them. For our setup, I wish they were a tad more compact, but really appreciate the versatility and power they do have.

While the speaker had great sound in a small package, the tech support was very poor. I telephoned tech support as the included scan code was compromised. When I scanned and opened, I either received messages to subscribe to the LA Times, or another shady entity that wanted me to open their site and input the same credit card number that I used for my Bose purchase. After multiple attempts I telephoned you tech support, received a laugh, and then suggestions to go online and download the Bose app from a play store and try again. Not what I would expect from Bose. This is the fifth product that I own from Bose, but there may not be a sixth.

No issues with connectivity to WIFI. THE BAD - Stereo pairing is an issue. During streaming using airplay, one speaker stops playing for a second or two and then comes back. After resetting my WIFI and the speakers, issue still occurs. Also wish that sound correction was available when speakers are stereo paired. POSSIBLE RESULT - After owning SoundLink Revolve II, Sound Touch 10 and QuietComfort Ultra, it may be time to make a change to the competition. Stereo pairing kinks should have been ironed out before release.

However, after receiving the sound bar and the speaker I found that in the Bose app, it says some speakers cannot connect or be linked in the Bose app.. VERY FRUSTRATING especially after the amount of money I invested… I should’ve stayed with my Sonos equipment because it sounded just as good!
