Lose yourself in your music

QC20 headphones let you experience music on the go as never before. You'll enjoy lifelike, digital sound quality that stands out from the noise around you—plus the freedom of an in-ear headphone. StayHear+ tips physically block some noise while our Acoustic Noise Cancelling technology electronically reduces most of what's left. It's just you and your music, even in noisy environments.

Tune in to your environment

But there are moments when you may not want to be so cut off from your surroundings. Crossing a city street. Waiting for airline gate announcements. This is where Aware mode comes in. Instead of removing your headphones, just press a button, and you're back in touch with the sounds around you—while your music keeps playing, and you still experience some noise cancellation.

Engaging sound

All this, plus Bose lifelike sound. Sound you wouldn't expect from in-ear headphones. Our TriPort® technology and Active EQ combine to give your music a depth and balance that keep your daily soundtrack fresh and alive. The subtle details shine through, too. So wherever you are, your music's front and center.

Advanced ear tip technology

And your music's even easier to enjoy when you're not fussing with your headphones. Proprietary StayHear+ tips create a soft, secure fit with no need to force them into your ears. The cone shape spreads contact evenly across the ear for maximum comfort, and forms a gentle seal that contributes to the headphones' full-spectrum noise reduction.

You're in control

Controls are all at your fingertips. Use the slider switch on the control module to turn noise cancelling on and off. The inline microphone/remote houses Aware mode and call answer/end buttons. The 4-button remote, provides volume and music control plus access to voice-recognition apps, like Siri or Google search.

Rechargeable battery

The lithium-ion battery (located inside the module) charges in just 2 hours with the included USB cable, and delivers up to 16 hours playing time per charge. A battery indicator light displays power status. And, even if the battery dies your music still plays with performance equal to that of our regular in-ear headphones.

When not in use, simply store your headphones and cables in the included carrying case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A healthy choice - on top of it all Having used these for a week now, I've realized another, unexpected reason why these noise cancelling headphones are great: ear health. If you've ever stepped off the train or the plane and turned back on the audio you'd been enjoying during your trip, you'll know what I'm talking about. Getting blasted at a disturbingly loud noise level...which was necessary for even a fair listening experience. But walking down the street, working at my desk or during yard work I wouldn't dream to turn up the volume that far. I'd think it'd hurt my ears. Yet, listening to my favorite podcasts on the train or watching a movie on the plane, it has felt appropriate to crank up the volume...because I've had to. Trading my latest-generation iPhone headphones for my new Bose headphones hasn't been physically exciting only on account of my ears. I feel as though I've also been able to listen to more of my music. Not volume, but quality! So much gets lost when the content is competing with the environment. There were gentle songs from Mendelssohn's Elias and zesty jazz tunes by Esperanza Spalding, among others, which I felt like I was now hearing "right" for the first time. For how small these headphones are, they are very powerful in portraying the music in its complexity. I always felt that the new iPhone headphones were (too) heavy on the bass sounds. My new Bose headphones seem more balanced. Lastly, what I'll say is that these also have made clear to me by how much noise I'm surrounded throughout the day. There's that moment when the audio content is still off and I'm already turning on the noise cancellation function. It's like wearing earplugs all of a sudden, when I'm actually just wearing very comfortable earbuds. Earbuds that now can play pure stories or songs for me. All that said, there are times, in the office, for example, when it has felt self-indulgent and borderline anti-social to listen with the noise cancellation feature turned on. In those cases I tried the "aware" function to hear more of what's going on around me and it works. Having the option to concentrate and dive into whatever analysis I was working on at the time or to overhear and join conversations is what makes these earphones versatile enough to keep wearing them in either situation. Okay, one more thing! A friend called me from across the ocean and I used the noise cancellation function during the call. It was easier to hear him and I felt like the connection was better than usual. I realized it was the earphones that did that, because at some point he remarked that the fire trucks outside my office were pretty loud on his end. And I saw them more than I heard them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound quality, Improved my study habits First, I want to start by saying these headphones were sent to me from Bose as part of their Test and Review Program. When I first heard about these headphones, I didn't honestly think that the noise cancellation technology would work very well. However, I was quickly proven wrong. When I first put these in my ears, I was totally impressed by the excellence of the noise cancellation quality. There was no hissing, and no outside sound interruption whatsoever. While testing the earbuds, my brother’s radio was blasting music at full volume in the background, and I couldn’t hear anything except for a little of the higher frequencies, and this was with no music playing through the earbuds. I'm a sophomore in high school, and let me tell you that these are perfect for using at school, such as during study halls, or between classes when there is a lot of background noise. I easily get distracted by other students talking, but using these headphones made a BIG difference. I noticed myself concentrating on work MUCH more. A great feature of these earbuds is the “Aware Mode”. When someone talks I hit the “Aware Mode” button and it lets the sound through so I can hear what someone is saying without taking the buds out. That is a very handy feature. But… Even with such great product, there are a couple of quirks. One thing I noticed is that the location of the volume control and play/pause button is in the exact location to be pressed up against a table and turn up or down the music unintentionally. For taller people, I’m sure this wouldn’t be an issue, but I am around 5’4” and it’s happened to me a couple of times. Also, the battery pack it made this nice clingy material, which is not slippery and feels comfortable in your hand, but happens to attract dust and dog hair like a magnet. With that said, I am happy to say that there are definitely many, MANY more pros than cons with these earbuds. Overall these are excellent for studying, working, traveling, school, doing yard work, watching movies, etc. I look forward to using these daily. Good Job Bose!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Bose warmth Before purchasing this and the Quiet Comfort 25 headphones, I was already an owner of the Solo for my TV. I was already a fan of the warm, deep and clear sound that Bose offers. I'm experiencing that same Bose sound in both of these products. But noise cancelling takes it to the next level. Imagine being in an acoustically perfect room with a Bose system. And these stereo earphones are the most durable I've seen so far. I'm happy. Thanks Bose. Forever a fan

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice headphones I am a well experienced Bose customer, I had a couple of headphones sets before, and a speaker form Bose. When It comes to quality sound I always would chose Bose over other brands. I was not a big fan of noise cancelling system – even from Bose, I was just getting a weird feeling from it. But this thanks giving I got a pair of QuietComfort® 20 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® headphones. This was by far the best experience with headphones I had so far. Headphones are every well assembled, no loose parts, made out of very quality plastic. The in-ear part is made out of silicon and fits in the ears perfectly. Headphones come with three sizes of StayHear®+ tips – small, medium and large, I decided to stick with the medium size. It fits in the ear very comfy, but after 5-6 hours of usage I started feeling a little discomfort in my ears, also it was not very comfortable to fall asleep in them. The thing I liked a lot about the headphones is that left and right is very easy to distinguish – which a lot of earphones do not have. The cord is made out of harder plastic you would see in AE2 headphones (not sure if they still make them), seems to be very reliable, but I am still kind of concerned about it, it has two more bases because of the noise cancelling block, that is where wire usually breaks (if breaks) – it breaks at the basis because it bends, but I hope this won’t be a problem. Being honest, this wire as all wires tangles In a pocket too. The block itself doesn’t cause any trouble putting it in the same pocket with a phone. The only thing I found myself not happy with was the clip - at the airport I unclipped headphones from my shirt countless amount of times. The noise cancelling system is something amazing, I did not like it before, some friends gave me to try their headphones sometimes – I though it is just not mine. This pair changed my mind, it took me about one song to get used to it, and now I wonder how was I living without it all that time! Right now I am on a plane, enjoying some music. With regular in-ear headphones I would need to turn the volume all the way up in order not to hear the engines, but noise cancelling thing does its job so well – you do not hear it at all! These pair also provides you with a feature of turning noise cancelling off – which I think is pretty neat, if you want to pay attention to what is happening around. When using noise cancelling for a long time - battery lasts around 8-10 hours, which is perfect for one day. The quality of the sound is always great, Bose has never disappointed me with it. Compared to cheap in-ear headphones that I was using for past three months CQ20 is a completely different experience. When listening to something like The Dark Side Of The Moon – you are truly able to experience sound and music at its best, I have even heard some new parts I did not hear before. I usually listen to music for at least 3-4 hours a day, so if you are a customer like me QC20 would be a perfect fit for you. It does not take any space, weights nothing, and provides you with great sound quality and noise cancelling feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these Earbuds! I received these earbuds through the Bose sample program a short time ago and I cannot get over the quality and sound of these earbuds. Out of the box they feel durable and beefy with a slightly thicker cord and an added noise canceling component near the plug end. At first I second guessed Bose if it was needed once the noise canceling feature was turned on but what I quickly realized was how great of a feature this is to be able turn on/off noise canceling. I found while making phone calls that I had to turn the noise canceling feature off, it was somewhat distracting to have to think about what I was saying with the noise canceling feature turned on. On or off the sound quality is dynamite and you almost forget the noise canceling component is even built into the wire. I've been wearing these earbuds at home, work, and at the gym and as expected the silicon ear tips keep the earbuds secure and sounding great. I still amazes me how comfortable the silicon tips are, I can keep these earbuds all day. Thanks again Bose for another dynamite product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible sound quality!!! Big sound!!! I received these today as a test product from BOSE. I have to say I'm very impressed once again with the sound quality of BOSE products. I have several BOSE blue tooth speakers as well as a sound bar and love ALL of them! These headphones definitely fall into that category too. Crystal clear sound with an amazing amount of bass especially considering how small the headphones are. I anticipate these being well used like the rest of my BOSE products. I would highly recommend these headphones for anyone looking for big sound out of a small device. Great sound and quality as usual from BOSE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well done! At first I thought the idea of noise cancelling ear buds was unnecessary because the earbuds themselves would block out enough of the ambient noise. And I thought the battery/noise cancelling module might be a deal breaker. I mean, who wants a small box dangling in between the device and earbuds? Well, after hearing how much noise Bose is able to cancel out I quickly discovered that the idea of noise cancelling earbuds wasn't so crazy after all. The amount of noise these earbuds cancels out in amazing! listening to music in a car allows me to hear all the music and none of the noise from tires, the road, engine etc. These earbuds would be perfect for people who commute to work on a bus or fly a often. The earbuds are very comfortable and fit very well. Even after long periods of time. The volume is plenty loud enough and the music sounds very full and balanced with plenty of rich bass. Just the way I like it! After a short while of using the Quiet comfort 20's I figured out that I can tuck the battery module between my palm and iPhone when taking calls or changing songs and I barely notice it's there. I also just tuck the module and my phone in my back pocket when walking and it's not a problem like I thought it might be. I watch a lot of movies on my iPad and these are quickly becoming my favorite for movies or music even over my beats studio wireless headphones. Very happy to have a set of these Quiet comfort 20's and highly recommend them to anyone to which music quality and comfort is important.

Accessories FAQs

Can I use the headphones even if noise cancelling is off or if the battery is depleted?

Yes, QC®20 headphones are still able to play audio if the battery power is depleted and the unit is powered off. You will not be able to use noise cancelling or Aware mode, however, and Active EQ, which electronically provides more lifelike audio reproduction, is disabled. These technologies need power to operate.

What devices can I use with QC20 headphones?

QC20 headphones are specifically designed to work with select Apple or select Samsung and Android™ devices. An inline microphone and one-touch answer/end button allow for seamless switching between your calls and music. Some phones may require you to hold the answer/end button for a few seconds to perform these functions.

Can I use QC20 headphones in the rain or snow?

It's not recommended. Bose® SoundSport® in-ear headphones, however, are designed to withstand the rigors of outdoor weather.
