High-performance sound

The Wave® SoundTouch® system features the legendary performance of the award-winning Wave® music system. An exclusive Bose® innovation—waveguide speaker technology—delivers the deep, rich sound of larger and more expensive stereos.

Exploring music with SoundTouch®

With SoundTouch®, you can discover and enjoy music more effortlessly than ever before. Wirelessly stream millions of songs through Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio™ and Deezer, as well as Internet radio stations and your own music library. A powerful app lets you control your music from anywhere in the house with your phone or tablet. And six easily programmable presets let you play your favorite music from the app or the included credit card-style remote.

The Wave® SoundTouch® music system is also part of an entire family of wireless products, from one-piece music systems to home theater. They all work together to play the same music in every room, or different music in different rooms.

Elegant simplicity

The Wave® SoundTouch® system sets up easily in minutes. The app helps walk you through the steps. Regular or home-burned CDs/MP3 CDs load directly into the front, and your streaming music sources and AM/FM stations are available at the touch of a preset. A slim infrared remote control lets you operate all system functions from anywhere in the room, and the convenient touch-top controls for on/off/snooze are completely invisible. You hear your music with clear, full, accurate sound. All from a music system that fits virtually anywhere: living room end table, kitchen counter or bedroom nightstand.

Ease of use

Proprietary Bose technologies automatically perform many of the adjustments needed for high-performance audio. So you can enjoy the performance of a large, multi-component stereo without a row of controls. The large, easy-to-read display shows the music source, time and more. And the dual alarms are great for working couples who have to wake up at different times. If you like to snooze in the morning, just tap the top of your system to buy some extra time.

More features

  • Auxiliary input to enjoy another audio source (e.g., MP3 or DVD player) through your Wave® system
  • Headphone jack for private listening
  • Large visual display with adjustable brightness and automatic nighttime dimming

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pricey, but most everything I was looking for... I wanted FM radio, WiFi for Pandora & iHeart radio, and Bluetooth, and a reputable brand. This unit (Wave SoundTouch music system IV) had it all. I didn't really want/need the CD player, but I guess it doesn't hurt to have it. Less expensive products seemed to lack one or another of my desired features, so I bit the bullet and splurged on the Bose. Set up was mostly intuitive, but I needed to consult the manual for a couple of things. The manual is well written and organized. A software update for the unit, loading the app on my phone, entering account info for services and setting up pre-sets took about an hour. I compared sound quality to the radio I was replacing. To my ear, the Bose does sound significantly better than the old name-brand boombox. In an effort to make sure this wasn't just cognitive dissonance, I didn't tell the wife about the new radio. She walked through the room, stopped, looked around, said "wow, that sounds really good. Where is that coming from?" Sound is very good with both music (I listen to '90s alternative and big band standards for most part) and talk radio. Maybe a touch too much bass, but one does need to rattle the rafters every now and then. I've only had the volume up to 66 (out of 99), and it is plenty loud for my space (~24' x 18' room with cathedral ceiling). The lack of controls on the unit is somewhat troubling. If I were planning to use this as an alarm clock, I think I would be more comfortable with buttons. So far, however, the controls are working out okay for my uses. I wish the remote was RF instead of IR, as having to aim the remote at the unit is annoying. The phone app does not control AM/FM selections, at least not that I've figured out. If it did, that would solve this issue for me. Maybe the App writers can work on that.... A touchscreen display - instead of the LED text - would be a great upgrade and give more comfort to those who, like me, want controls on the unit itself. Displaying album art would be a nice feature. Not sure how much more I would pay for that, though. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. Given the cost, I wouldn't recommend it to others unless they did their own research and evaluation of desires and budget. I certainly wouldn't try to talk anyone out of it, though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEST! I still have the original WAVE radio and a WAVE SOUNDTOUCH. The WAVE SOUNDTOUCH is simply the best wifi sound system outside of Symphony Hall or a recording studio. I have tried other systems; BOSE is it, hands down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The greatest model ever! It has finally arrived! Convergence at it's best, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, beautiful new design and performance to boot! Sound is superb, just what we have come to demand from Bose and the Wave model. Setup was easy to link to both my network, my iPad and phone. I streamed music within 10 minutes of unboxing. At the end of the day it's all about the room filling music! Bose hit this one out of the park!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from missing the EQ feature i am a loyal bose system supporter and i have the soundlink mini ( love it ). in comparison the system is great, i love the features in includes, presets have saved me many times form having to turn on my computer. the sound fills up my room perfectly when i use CD's or internet radio but once i use my bluetooth from my phone or even my computer the volume is not that great. the one thing that i believe is lacking from this unit is the EQ option. but then again many of bose systems lack this function and i do not mind it at all. another thing i dislike is the lack of playing my CDs on this system and being able to hear it on other speakers. besides this i love the internet streaming features. the FM quality is great. the alarms have the options i need and AUX when using it with my TV fills up the room and gives me an excellent stereo filling . i was thinking of bying other soundlink speakers to expand the stereo experience but i believe it will not be possible since i cannot stream the sound form this system to the rest when using aux or CD. i have this unit in my bedroom which is 12' x 10' overall square and it fills it up, anything above 15'x15' i would suggest going another route. Pros: Sound Quality is excellent when playing CD's , FM, AM, Aux from TV or other devices. internet radio works flawlessly , preset and options for alarm sounds a big plus. Cons: no EQ , bluetooth from my phone or other devices sound weak and always lag. not capable of sharing sound from CD's or Aux. overall i bought this unit to play my old and new CD's in my bedroom and to use as a sound booster for my TV and occasionally and alarm. this unit performs for what its intended to do. i would recommended if you where to use it like i do. if you are trying to throw parties and fill up a big room with a stereo system i suggest to look at another model.
