Determining whether a PC is running a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows
Determining whether your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit is useful to understand compatibility with 32 or 64-bit apps.
To determine whether Windows 7 is 32 or 64-bit:
- On the computer, click the Windows logo in the lower-left
- Right-click on Computer and, in the menu that appears, select Properties: If 64-bit Operating System appears next to System type, it's a 64-bit version of Windows; if not, it's a 32-bit version of Windows.
