Product will not turn on

If your product appears to be receiving power but won't power on as expected:

Be sure the system is set up properly and all connections are secure.

A connection may have come loose or may be connected incorrectly. For more info, see Setting up your product.

Check the power connections at your product and at the power source.

Be sure the power connections to your product are secure both to the AC (mains) outlet and to your product. For more info, see Connecting to power.

To pair the RC35S2 expansion remote and control console, follow these steps:

There are two methods to pairing the expansion remote; one pairs the remote using the System Information screen, the other navigates through the Unify menu screens

Using the System Information screen:
  1. On the control console, press Setup. The Setup menu with the Unify logo should appear on the TV screen - if it doesn't, select the correct TV input
  2. Press and hold Setup until the System Information Screen displays
  3. Change switches 1, 2, 3 and 4 under the battery cover on the back of the expansion remote to match the four lines shown to the right of the number on line 11. If six lines are shown, change switches 5 and 6 as well
Using the Unify menu screens:
  1. On the control console, press Setup. The Setup menu with the Unify logo should appear on the TV screen - if it doesn't, select the correct TV input
  2. On the main remote, press Down until "Homewide" is highlighted
  3. Press OK
  4. Press Up or Down to highlight "House code"
  5. Press OK
  6. Press Up or Down to highlight "Standard". The default is "15". Changing this selection will change the house code setting to "0" for Standard, "0A" for Alternative
  7. On the expansion remote, press Stop. The system's house code setting will change to match the expansion remote
  8. On the main remote, press Exit to leave the menu

Try both the buttons on the product and the buttons on the remote control.

Check if either the buttons on your product or the buttons on your remote can operate your product. If buttons work on one but not the other, see Remote is intermittent or does not control your Bose product or Buttons on product do not work or work intermittently.

Be sure the power cord is connected to a working power outlet.

If the outlet is controlled by a wall switch, be sure the switch is on. You can also verify if the outlet works by connecting another electronic device, such as a lamp. If connected to a power strip (or surge protector), try bypassing the power strip and plug the power cord directly to a wall outlet.
