Lose yourself in your music

QC20 headphones let you experience music on the go as never before. You'll enjoy lifelike, digital sound quality that stands out from the noise around you—plus the freedom of an in-ear headphone. StayHear+ tips physically block some noise while our Acoustic Noise Cancelling technology electronically reduces most of what's left. It's just you and your music, even in noisy environments.

Tune in to your environment

But there are moments when you may not want to be so cut off from your surroundings. Crossing a city street. Waiting for airline gate announcements. This is where Aware mode comes in. Instead of removing your headphones, just press a button, and you're back in touch with the sounds around you—while your music keeps playing, and you still experience some noise cancellation.

Engaging sound

All this, plus Bose lifelike sound. Sound you wouldn't expect from in-ear headphones. Our TriPort® technology and Active EQ combine to give your music a depth and balance that keep your daily soundtrack fresh and alive. The subtle details shine through, too. So wherever you are, your music's front and center.

Advanced ear tip technology

And your music's even easier to enjoy when you're not fussing with your headphones. Proprietary StayHear+ tips create a soft, secure fit with no need to force them into your ears. The cone shape spreads contact evenly across the ear for maximum comfort, and forms a gentle seal that contributes to the headphones' full-spectrum noise reduction.

You're in control

Controls are all at your fingertips. Use the slider switch on the control module to turn noise cancelling on and off. The inline microphone/remote houses Aware mode and call answer/end buttons. The 4-button remote, provides volume and music control plus access to voice-recognition apps, like Siri or Google search.

Rechargeable battery

The lithium-ion battery (located inside the module) charges in just 2 hours with the included USB cable, and delivers up to 16 hours playing time per charge. A battery indicator light displays power status. And, even if the battery dies your music still plays with performance equal to that of our regular in-ear headphones.

When not in use, simply store your headphones and cables in the included carrying case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best travel money you can spend if you fly often I started out ages ago with a set of QC-15s, and I absolutely loved them for travel, which was my primary use. The one complaint I had about them was that it is difficult to sleep on an airplane with big over-the-ear cans on your head. Then the QC-20 came out and my needs were finally met. Lets be honest, despite Bose claims, acoustically, these are good, but not great. They're probably in the mid-rage for acoustic quality, better than dollar store earbuds, not even close to approaching a good set of Shure or Etymotics, though. However, I have tried and bought many ANR headsets over the years and nothing really comes close to the Bose noise cancelling setup. And that's why you buy these, and why you pay a premium for them (beyond the typical Bose inflated costs). The noise cancelling on these IS the bar that others try to reach, but pretty much always fall short. They cancel out so much of that awful drone in-flight, on the train, or just about anywhere, and they do so without having to shove tight fitting foam or rubber tips into your ear canals. The rubber tips are super comfortable to wear. I've worn mine upwards of 16 hours before without complaint. The foam tip buds like my Shures I can only wear for a couple hours at a time before they start to hurt my ear canals. My only complaint about the QC-20 is that they're cabled, not bluetooth. Bose answered that need also with the new QC-30, however, the QC-30 has significantly less battery life. I fly to Asia often, and the 16+ hour battery life of my QC-20 lasts the entire flight. The 10 hour battery life of the QC-30 means I'll run out of juice before I've even crossed the Pacific. So for me, I'll probably keep my QC-20s (and maybe buy a newer pair as a back up one day) and find a decent bluetooth adapter for them so I can enjoy the battery life. If Bose updates the QC-30 to extend battery life to 16 hours minimum, I'll certainly consider upgrading.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best headphones ever don't put them though washer Had them two years, there definitely worth it. They have very good audio but they don't compare to very high-end custom earbuds. However the sound cancelation is second to none. As long as u don't put them though the wash machine or take them in a monsoon there extremely durable. I also have a pair of QC 35 II but these are better for most things. Especially the bass

FAQs

Can I use the headphones even if noise cancelling is off or if the battery is depleted?

Yes, QC®20 headphones are still able to play audio if the battery power is depleted and the unit is powered off. You will not be able to use noise cancelling or Aware mode, however, and Active EQ, which electronically provides more lifelike audio reproduction, is disabled. These technologies need power to operate.

What devices can I use with QC20 headphones?

QC20 headphones are specifically designed to work with select Apple or select Samsung and Android™ devices. An inline microphone and one-touch answer/end button allow for seamless switching between your calls and music. Some phones may require you to hold the answer/end button for a few seconds to perform these functions.

Can I use QC20 headphones in the rain or snow?

No, QuietComfort 20 headphones are not designed to be used in wet environments.
