IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

Recall of Certain Bose Bass Modules

Bose is voluntarily recalling bass modules manufactured before April 1, 2006 that were sold with select Acoustimass, Lifestyle, and Companion home theater systems. Under certain conditions, electrical components within the bass module can fail, posing a fire hazard.

To determine if your bass module is impacted, follow the steps below. If your bass module is included in the recall, please stop using it and unplug it from the electrical outlet immediately.

STEP 1

Locate your bass module.  Below are two images of the bass modules included in this recall.  The color of your bass module may be either black or white.

STEP 2

Unplug your bass module from the electrical outlet.  Turn your bass module so you can view the label. Find your product name and serial number on the label. The product name is located at the top of the label next to the Bose logo. The serial number is described as “SER. NO.” or “SERIAL NUMBER”. See examples below. Your label may look slightly different than these images.

Bass Module Version #1

The label is located on the bottom of your bass module. Make sure to take a picture or write down your product name and serial number for easy access when needed.

Bass Module Version #2

The label is located on the back of your bass module. Make sure to take a picture or write down your product name and serial number for easy access when needed.

STEP 3

If your product name is “ACOUSTIMASS 6 III HOME ENT. SYSTEM” or “ACOUSTIMASS 15 II HOME ENT. SYSTEM”, go to Step 4 below to determine if your bass module is included in the recall. If your product name is something different, open the product list via the button below and match the product name from your label to the product list.

If the product list indicates that your bass module is included in the recall, please go to Step 5 below for instructions on how to return it

If your product name is “ACOUSTIMASS 6 III HOME ENT. SYSTEM” or “ACOUSTIMASS 15 II HOME ENT. SYSTEM”, look at the serial number on your bass module (you can find your serial number as shown above in “Step 2”).

Find digits 8 through 11 of the serial number (circled in the image below)

  • If digits 8 through 11 are between 2090 and 6091, your product is included in this recall. Please go to Step 5 below for instructions on how to return it.
  • If digits 8 through 11 are not between 2090 and 6091, your product is not included in this recall.
