Yes. The SoundLink Micro Speaker (2nd Gen) has a replaceable fabric strap, sold separately.

Active EQ (equalization) involves electronically tuning the frequency response to closely match the proprietary Bose audio response curve. The closer the frequency response comes to matching the target curve, the more lifelike the audio performance.

Multipoint is a Bluetooth technology that allows your SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen) to maintain a connection to two paired source devices at the same time. Your speaker will seamlessly transition between the two devices, so you’re always connected to the active source device.

Shortcuts are managed through the Bose app. Shortcuts allow you to configure settings for the programmable shortcut button on SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen). When your SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen) is new, the factory default shortcut is set to linking, allowing you to use the shortcut button to link two Bose speakers together. You can change your shortcut button to begin playing music from your Spotify account or to access your voice assistant. Other options may become available with future firmware updates through the Bose app.

Party Mode lets you connect two Bose Bluetooth speakers to play audio in perfect sync. This feature requires two Bose Bluetooth speakers with a shortcut button (may be a combination) of the following speakers: SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen), SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen), SoundLink Plus, or SoundLink Max.

Stereo Mode allows you to unlock a stereo audio experience where the left and right speakers play separately. Stereo Mode can only be used with two SoundLink Micro Speaker (2nd Gen) speakers.

Yes. Using Bose SimpleSync technology, you can connect to your SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen) from a SimpleSync-enabled Bose smart soundbar or Bose smart speaker to extend the reach of your listening to other places in the vicinity, such as an adjacent room. Use the Bose app to use SimpleSync.

No, there are no microphones in the SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen).

No. You cannot charge other devices using the SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen). The USB-C port is charge-in only.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BruceS from Bose Micro 2 is a Great Portable Speaker I first bought a Sonos Roam for a portable speaker, it had great sound but the battery life was a disappointment. The Bose Soundlink Micro 2 has great sound and phenomenal battery life. When you consider the Sonos speaker cost almost twice as much as the Bose did, this is a no-brainer. The only negative I can mention is the Bose Micro weighs more, but I think that comes with the exceptional battery life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bubba Wolf from A Worthy Upgrade I’ve had the first generation Micro since 2018. It’s been my go-to speaker for travel and its ruggedness has held up well, except for the strap breaking after 2 years of use. I had high expectations for this new generation, and after comparing the two, it has some pretty significant upgrades: 1. I really like the new strap. It’s easy to attach, holds well, and feels durable. 2. The new generation gets surprisingly loud. While the previous generation had a warm sound, this one is noticeably brighter and treble-forward. I wouldn’t be surprised if they used the same driver as the new SoundLink Plus. That being said, it sounds fantastic and clear. 3. It stands up by itself! I was surprised to see that the speaker can stand up vertically, which is a nice touch. It’s a little chunkier, and feels like it can take a tumble. Overall, I really appreciate the 2nd generation micro for its combination of portability, engineering, and most importantly sound quality. The brighter sound signature pairs well with my SoundLink Max, while being portable enough to bring anywhere.

The sound is amazing as always. It’s small but mighty!! I use it in my car so I can listen to music from my phone and it sounds amazing and it’s small enough I can tuck it away while I’m parked and away from my car. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a small compact speaker with great sound!!
