Turn The Dial sessions: Volume 2
In the latest Turn the Dial session, musician and singer Laufey joined forces with up-and-coming music composer Eunike Tanzil to produce a new song, in collaboration with Bose, Porsche, and She Is The Music. Turn The Dial seeks to close the gender gap in music production.
We invited the brilliant duo into the studio, where they showcased their music-making magic. In only 3 hours, the pair combined their talents to create a new song. At the end of the session, they jumped into a Porsche and turned up the volume to fully take in their completed track (and sing along). Check it out for yourself below.
“I think being able to highlight the women that are behind the songs; that’s everything.”
Laufey is a Grammy award winning singer and multi-instrumentalist. The Icelandic-Chinese artist is a trailblazer whose goal is to bring jazz and classical music to younger generations. She has performed on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! and was the most streamed jazz artist on Spotify in 2022.
“I love combining many different instruments ... to create something very symphonic and emotionally connect with the audience.”
Eunike is a composer and producer from Indonesia. Her artistic goal is to introduce orchestral music to a more diverse audience. A graduate of both Berklee College of Music and the Juilliard School, she has collaborated on the scores of several TV series and films with award-winning composers.
Eunike’s involvement in this session was made possible by She Is The Music, a nonprofit organization increasing the number of women working in music. The program enables Eunike and other female musicians to collaborate with influential women in the music industry.
