High-performance sound

The Wave® SoundTouch® system features the legendary performance of the award-winning Wave® music system. An exclusive Bose® innovation—waveguide speaker technology—delivers the deep, rich sound of larger and more expensive stereos.

Exploring music with SoundTouch

The Wave SoundTouch music system is part of an entire family of wireless products, from one-piece music systems to home theater. They all work together to play the same music in every room, or different music in different rooms. With SoundTouch, you can discover and enjoy music more effortlessly than ever before.

Fast, simple control of all your music

Experience your favorite music from your SoundTouch speaker with the SoundTouch app. SoundTouch lets you take total control of your listening experience. Browse popular music services like Spotify® and Deezer, Internet radio or your stored music library. Easily personalize presets for one-touch access to the music you love, and control one or many SoundTouch speakers around your home.

Elegant simplicity

The Wave® SoundTouch® system sets up easily in minutes. The app helps walk you through the steps. Regular or home-burned CDs/MP3 CDs load directly into the front, and your streaming music sources and AM/FM stations are available at the touch of a preset. A slim infrared remote control lets you operate all system functions from anywhere in the room, and the convenient touch-top controls for on/off/snooze are completely invisible. You hear your music with clear, full, accurate sound. All from a music system that fits virtually anywhere: living room end table, kitchen counter or bedroom nightstand.

Ease of use

Proprietary Bose technologies automatically perform many of the adjustments needed for high-performance audio. So you can enjoy the performance of a large, multi-component stereo without a row of controls. The large, easy-to-read display shows the music source, time and more. And the dual alarms are great for working couples who have to wake up at different times. If you like to snooze in the morning, just tap the top of your system to buy some extra time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best music system I have ever owned I've had Wave radio systems for at least 20 years. The first one I owned only had a radio (buttons were on top). I still use it in my bedrom. The second system I owned had the built-in CD player (buttons still on top). I gave that one to my 10 year old son and he has it in his bedroom. Then I got the Wave with the SoundTouch. This was a game-changer for sure. I use Internet Radio, i Heart Radio, and Pandora and the sound is phenomenal! All controlled from my i-Phone, it is far and away the best purchase in a music system I have ever made. I have gotten so used to the SoundTouch, I will never be able to do without it. And the sleek design fits so well with my furniture. I am looking to expand the system into other rooms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A work of art Although the Bose Wave Radio with the Sound touch Internet/Bluetooth pedestal and remote control is Very Expensive... ...when properly set up, it will give you a "wall of sound" which you would never know is coming from something the size of a little cake box --and-- besides CD and Bluetooth and AM/FM, it can access Internet radio and radio stations from anywhere around the world, from the comfort of the glowing screen your smart phone or computer. Note: the Internet is built into the Soundtouch base, it will also access your NAS drive if you have one, and you don't need to keep your computer or smart phone on all the time. The instructions say to position it 2 feet in front a wall in your "listening room," and hopefully in the center between the two walls on either side. That is exactly what I did, If you don't believe me, just try it in the dark. For folks who dislike a lot of wires and complexity, it's a no-brainer. It is likely worth the initial cost. Look at this way: When was the last time you saw a clock radio that wasn't just a piece of junk? For starters, this system definitely has the weight and heft of quality components. I initially tried the Wave bedside, but the "wall of sound" effect wasn't really there. So, like the Bose 901 direct-reflecting speaker system, "speaker placement" is very important. My WAVE does have some "base boost" or built in "loudness" which applies not only to music, but will give a little "base underlining" to regular speech. I see that another reviewer complained about that, and the Bose response was: ***Press and hold Alarm Setup (Menu) until "-SETUP MENU-" appears on the system display Press Tune/MP3 > 3 times until "BASS-" displays Press Time – or Time + to select "NORMAL" or "REDUCED" Press Alarm Setup (Menu) to exit the menu or wait 10 seconds for the setup menu to automatically exit Reducing the bass can make the treble more apparent which may help make the Wave SoundTouch IV play more to your liking.*** That is very good news, but, funny, I did NOT notice that anywhere in the documentation that came with my WAVE system. Why, why, why, go through that hokey pokey when there SHOULD be a physical switch on the unit or button on the remote -- or in the Soundtouch software -- to accomplish the same purpose?? So in summary, I am please with my purchase, but do wish to add a few more remarks. First, you should definitely use the matching Bose indoor FM antenna, or, better yet, go over to Amazon and buy the "3.5mm or 1/8" Male to F Type Female Coaxial Adapter (Bose FM Antenna)" so you can connect to a real FM antenna... hopefully one that is outdoors. Second, there should be an "external" AM antenna hookup, but I don't see one anywhere. Third, looks like Bose needs to come up with more than 6 presets... and also looks like Bose hasn't yet figured out how to control the "whole radio" i.e., not only the Internet features but also the AM and FM tuning, from the Soundtouch enabled smart phone or computer. Now, maybe that isn't possible given the add-on nature of the Soundtouch base to a pre-existing hardware design, but we can only hope that addition of complete control from the software will be a future software upgrade. Meanwhile, place your Wave two feet in front of a wall, position yourself a the opposite side of the room, turn of the lights, and enjoy! Five Stars!
