Famously a hub for all things music and pop culture, NME has had a part in launching the careers of bands such as Primal Scream with their iconic C-Series compilations.
Curated to include artists that represent the future of sound and music, the upcoming C23 mixtape will follow in the footsteps of the celebrated C86 release as it highlights individuals who are making strides in their respective music scene. The track list includes artists from various genres and various parts of the world, all of whom are connected by their outstanding talent and individuality.
“When I write music… I am my own standard. If I feel like I have expressed myself honestly, whether it’s good or bad, then it meets that standard.”
“We were exposed to so much stuff in London… I started writing songs because I was inspired by other people.”
“Great music is a powerful force — it evokes memories, serves as an outlet of self-expression, and brings people together. Our goal is to be a brand that champions both emerging musicians and music fans that enjoy the thrill of discovering new music — and the C23 compilation is the perfect way to connect those communities and their shared passion.”
Also set to be released March 15 alongside the C23 mixtape, is a one-off print edition of NME which highlights both the iconic history of C-Series, and the musicians who will be joining in on its legacy through the new release. A limited-edition C23 vinyl, with a total of only 1000 set to be manufactured, will come out later in 2023.
