So, what exactly can connect?
The adapter has three common inputs (optical, AUX and RCA), so anything that supports one of them can become a SoundTouch wireless music system. Most stereo systems, home theater systems and docking speakers are compatible—so chances are, what you have in your living room will work after a quick plug-in and setup. Already own a Bose system? Many of them are compatible, too, including most Lifestyle, CineMate, Wave, SoundDock and SoundLink products.

Have speakers, but no receiver?
If you have passive speakers, the SoundTouch SA-5 amplifier both powers them and connects to your home Wi-Fi network. So you’ll get a world of wireless music through your passive speakers, too. It makes it easy to listen anywhere around your home—even through outdoor speakers. The SA-5 amplifier is also part of the SoundTouch family.

The digital optical connection option will yield the highest-quality audio output from the SoundTouch Wireless Link. The 3.5 mm mini-stereo and RCA options enable usage with sound systems that do not have an optical connector.

In general, any audio/video receiver or powered speaker system with at least one of the supported connection options can be adapted by the SoundTouch Wireless Link. The SoundTouch Wireless Link is not designed to work with headphones or unamplified passive speakers.

For best performance, set the SoundTouch Wireless Link on its rubber base during use.
Will the SoundTouch Wireless Link adapter work if I put it in a cabinet?
To avoid wireless interference, place the SoundTouch Wireless Link outside and away from metal cabinets. Within a non-metal cabinet, place the SoundTouch Wireless Link away from direct heat sources (such as other audio/video equipment) to avoid impact to performance.

The Bluetooth button makes it easy to connect to the SoundTouch Wireless Link via Bluetooth. Simply press the button to enter Bluetooth mode, or press and hold to pair a new Bluetooth device.

The SoundTouch Wireless Link’s Bluetooth link is capable of stable operation at up to 30 ft (9 m). Performance can be affected by obstacles such as walls or metal, interference from Wi-Fi or other wireless devices, and device manufacturers’ Bluetooth implementations.
Does the SoundTouch Wireless Link adapter have auxiliary input?
Yes. The SoundTouch Wireless Link supports analog auxiliary input through its mini-stereo auxiliary input jack.
Can I use the remote control that came with another SoundTouch product to control the SoundTouch Wireless Link adapter?
No. The SoundTouch Wireless Link does not feature a remote sensor.
